The Shoot today
I went to Winkelspruit this morning with my friend Pieter and what a morning. This is the first of the photos I took the rest will follow. It was beautiful . There was a gap on the horizon and the sky went pink then orange wish you could have been there. I will post some more tomorrow , still have to process them.
Cheers Carl.

The Sea
Ready
Steady
Go
I regard the sea as an endless canvas. Just a short walk on a rocky shoreline can result in mind blowing scenes, just wait for the right light. I often take a series of photos, showing the passage of time and light through a morning or afternoon. These photos show such a passage, and what a beautiful morning it was. They are all long exposures, flattening the sea and making it look somewhat surreal.
Cheers for now.

A day in the Overberg
Contrast
Eternity
The perfect sunrise
My name is Carl Smorenburg and I am a budding landscape photographer. I took up photography three years ago and with a lot of reading and help from my photographic club, Westville Camera Club, I'm getting there. I've learned a lot, yet still have so much to learn. Photography has taken me to amazing places, down cliffs, up mountains and into the wilds. I often get up at 3am to catch the first rays of the morning (sometimes I can even drag my wife out of bed for the experience, not often though!).
I find the Overberg a wonderful place to take photos. The quiet and tranquility makes me feel at peace. These are some of the photos I took while on holiday there recently. The last image was a blend of three photos using luminosity masks. With the others I used a 0.9 grad filter.
Let me know what you think!
